Manager of Finance - Madewell Brand

Overview: The Manager – Madewell Brand will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects in support of the Madewell Brand P&L. This role is critical for planning and managing overall financial performance. The Manager – Madewell Brand will learn about the business in a fast-paced environment, working cross-functionally, analyzing key trends and presenting results to leadership to inform strategic decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Madewell brand leadership to build detailed annual budgets and ongoing P&L forecasts, with a focus on selling and operating expenses.
  • Prepare monthly P&L review for senior management to analyze performance across Stores and Direct businesses.
  • Create and implement meaningful, actionable and timely reporting to inform business leads of trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly sales plans.
  • Work cross-functionally with Store Operations to ensure payroll planning is consistent with financial objectives, as well as with Marketing and Real Estate teams to maintain alignment for forecast/budget.
  • Partner with team members across FP&A and Accounting to identify opportunities to streamline strategic and operational processes.
  • Drive fiscal responsibility across the Madewell organization.
  • Create and maintain ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and validate ROI realization.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in banking, consulting or financial planning and analysis (retail industry experience a plus)
  • BS in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • MBA/CPA a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with sharp attention to detail
  • Team player with exceptional communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with business partners
  • Agile learner, with the ability to adapt, pivot efficiently between tasks and manage multiple time-sensitive priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Hyperion and/or SAP experience a plus
