Madewell Men's Senior Copywriter


Reports to Sr. Director, Editorial and Copy



Madewell is looking for a Men’s Senior Copywriter to create and manage all men’s copy, including product descriptions, social media, site, store and email copy, and copy for other channels as needed.


The ideal candidate would be responsible for writing, coordinating, and maintaining all copy related to online product descriptions, including naming products. Additionally, the candidate would be responsible for coordinating and writing copy for our men's social media channels and writing all monthly site, store and email copy.


In addition, the copywriter must be a strong cross-divisional partner with merchants, designers, marketing team members, and art directors.

We want you to…

  • Write all men’s copy across channels, including site, email, social and stores.
  • Manage the necessary information gathering and execution of all online product descriptions and product naming for the Madewell men’s team.
  • Work closely with the social media team to ensure that engaging copy is delivered for all channels.
  • Work closely with merchants each season to maintain a detailed description of products to be used by the men’s team.


Oh, and by the way, you have…

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
  • English, Journalism, Communications, or Advertising degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of editorial/copywriting experience (fashion preferred)
  • Strong conceptual skills with knowledge of how copy relates to art, design, graphics and typography
  • Flexibility & Time Management: ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and take responsibilities for deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to write in a brand voice
  • Experience with digital storytelling
  • An ability to work collaboratively and ensure that Madewell’s content looks, feels, and sounds on-brand will be a core component of the job.
