UX Product Designer

 

UX Product Designers at Madewell play a key role in defining the user experience and design of digital features on Madewell.com. This role will collaborate closely with other UX Product Designers, Brand Creative, and our Digital Insights team, and will report into the Director of Product Development.

 

We're looking for someone who has exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating useful and innovative online retail shopping experiences. The ideal candidate has broad experience in the areas of wireframing, UI design, information architecture, prototyping, and user research. 

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Own the iterative product design of major ecommerce features
  • Own customer journey mapping and documentation as the site evolves
  • Participate in user research, identifying key pain points and strategies for solving customer problems
  • Participate in sprint planning and roadmap discussions
  • Collaborate with Product Management on requirements and specifications
  • Partner closely with Creative teams to design delightful customer experiences
  • Partner closely with engineers to see designs through on all devices and touchpoints
  • Communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, tailoring the content to the audience
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities in an agile environment
  • Leverage site analytics to identify opportunities to improve the site experience
  • Interpret business needs, objectives, and direction from multiple stakeholders and integrate feedback appropriately into the product experience 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • At least 1-2 years design experience with customer-facing sites
  • Proficiency using Sketch and Invision for design creation and clickable prototyping
  • Background in ecommerce and digital shopping experiences
  • Ability to take a project from ideation to completion
  • Knowledge of modern and emerging web and mobile UI patterns and design tools
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate on a cross-functional team
  • A great portfolio of work that demonstrates user experience and product design skills
